New Traffic Orders For City Centre – Various

Traffic Order 1 – Flourmill Lane

Start Date and Time : 16 October 2015 18:30

Location : Flourmill Lane
Description : Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will operate from 18:30on 16 October 2015, until 20:00 on 18 October, 2015 and from 18:30 on 23 October 2015, until 20:00 on 25 October, 2015, is to impose a one-way restriction on Flourmill Lane, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Upperkirkgate and Netherkirkgate, other than in a South easterly direction. There will be an exception for delivery vehicles. The restriction is in the interests of public safety during SSE duct laying works.
Alternate Route : An alternative route for westbound vehicles is available via Netherkirkgate, St. Catherines Wynd, Union Street and Broad Street.

 

Change to traffic Order 2 – Broad Street

Start Date and Time : 18 October 2015 05:00
End Date and Time : 10 April 2017 23:59
Location : Broad Street
Description : The effect of the order, which will operate from 05:00 on 18 October, 2015, until 24:00 on 10 April, 2017 is to impose a one-way restriction on Broad Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Queen Street and Upperkirkgate other than in a south east bound direction, with the exception of service buses, emergency vehicles and Aberdeen City Council roads maintenance Gritting vehicles. The restriction is in the interests of public safety during construction works for the Marischal Square Development. There will also be three way temporary traffic signals in operation at the junction with Queen Street from 08.00 on 18/10/15 until 23.00 on 26/10/15.
Alternate Route : An alternative route for northbound vehicles is available via Castle Street, King Street, West North Street and Gallowgate.

 

Traffic Order 3 – Union Terrace

End Date and Time : 02 November 2015 06:00
Location : Union Terrace
Description : Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named orders in terms of its powers under section 62(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, and section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 respectively. The effect of the first order, which will operate from 05:00 on Thursday, 29 October 2015, until 06:00 on Monday, 2 November 2015, will be to close Union Terrace, Aberdeen, between Union Street and Rosemount Viaduct. Diamond Place, Aberdeen, will also be closed between Union Terrace and Diamond Street. The second order comes into operation at 18:00 on Wednesday, 28 October 2015 until 23:50on Sunday, 1 November 2015, there will be a prohibition of waiting at any time on either side of Union Terrace, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Union Street and Rosemount Viaduct. Also from 05:00 onThursday, 29 October 2015 until 22:00 on Sunday, 1 November 2015, is to suspend existing pay and display arrangements and overnight parking restrictions on certain lengths of Beach Boulevard, Aberdeen. The lengths will be on the north side for approximately 140 metres or thereby, between the Beach Boulevards east junction with Wales Street, and on the south side from its junction with Hanover Street to directly opposite its east junction with Wales Street. This is to allow those kerbsides to be used for the parking of vendors’ vehicles (vehicles which cannot be accommodated at the location of the International Street Market itself, and therefore have to be catered for elsewhere, reasonably close to Union Terrace). However, any vendors’ vehicle so parked must display an “International Market Vendors’ Permit” issued by the Council in order to be entitled to be parked there. Also by virtue of this order – but beginning at 05:00 on Thursday 29 October (until 23:50 on Sunday 1 November 2015) – the prohibition of right turns from Skene Street, Aberdeen, into Rosemount Viaduct will be suspended for buses only .
Alternate Route : An alternative route is available via Rosemount Viaduct, Schoolhill, Upperkirkgate, Broad Street, and Union Street.

 

Traffic Order 4 – Belmont Street

Start Date and Time : 31 October 2015 06:00
End Date and Time : 31 October 2015 17:00
Location : Belmont Street, Little Belmont Street, Gaelic Lane
Description : Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 62(1) of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984. The order provides for the Belmont Street Country Fair and Street Market. The effect of the order, which will operate between 06:00 and 17:00 on Saturday, 31October, 2015, is to impose a prohibition of driving on Belmont Street, Little Belmont Street and Gaelic Lane.
