FIVE New Temporary Traffic Orders – Various Streets

Traffic Order 1 – Broad Street

Start Date and Time : 18 October 2015 05:00
End Date and Time : 10 April 2017 23:59
Location : Broad Street
Description : The effect of the order, which will operate from 05:00 on 18 October, 2015, until 24:00 on 10 April, 2017 is to impose a one-way restriction on Broad Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Queen Street and Upperkirkgate other than in a southeastbound direction, with the exception of service buses, emergency vehicles and Aberdeen City Council roads maintenance Gritting vehicles. The restriction is in the interests of public safety during construction works for the Marischal Square Development.
Alternate Route : An alternative route for northbound vehicles is available via Castle Street, King Street, West North Street and Gallowgate.

 

Traffic Order 2 – Netherkirkgate

Start Date and Time : 19 October 2015 07:00
End Date and Time : 19 October 2015 23:59
Location : Netherkirkgate
Description : Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will operate from 07:00 until 24:00 on 19 October, 2015, is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on Netherkirkgate, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Flourmill Lane and St Catherine’s Wynd. Access to Netherkirkgate will be possible for pedestrians at its junction with Flourmill Lane. The measure is necessary to protect public safety during operations to lift steelwork at an adjacent construction site.

 

Traffic Order 3 – Union Street & Castle Street

End Date and Time : 18 October 2015 13:00
Location : Union Street, Castle Street
Description : Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will operate from 12:00 until 13:00 on 18 October, 2015, is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on Union Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Back Wynd and Broad Street, and also Castle Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Broad Street and King Street. Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible. The measure is necessary to protect public safety during ATUC march to the Castlegate.
Alternate Route : An alternative route for eastbound traffic is available via Union Terrace, Rosemount Viaduct, Schoolhill, Upperkirkgate, Gallowgate, Little John Street, West North Street and King Street.

Description : Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will operate from 12:00 until 13:00 on 18 October, 2015, is to impose a temporary prohibition of driving on Union Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Back Wynd and Broad Street, and also Castle Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Broad Street and King Street. Access to properties will be maintained, but no through traffic will be possible. The measure is necessary to protect public safety during ATUC march to the Castlegate.

Location : Spa Street
Description : Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will operate from 08:00on 19 October, 2015, until 24:00 on 25 October, 2015, is to impose a temporary prohibition of waiting on the east side of Spa Street, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Skene Street and Raeburn Place. The parking restrictions will not be implemented on the whole length of street at any one time, and will only be implemented as and when required, and will be demarcated by the use of no-waiting cones. The measure is necessary to protect public safety during works being carried out by City Fibre.
